Van line: More arrive than leave Washoe
United Van Lines moved 268 households into Washoe County during 2013, and moved only 213 households out of the county.
The long-distance moving company headquartered at St. Louis said Southern California cities were the previous homes for 36 the families that it moved to Washoe County. Arizona cities accounted for another 15 inbound shipments.
The Seattle area, meanwhile, was the destination for 22 of the outbound moves, by far the most popular destination for people moving out of the area.
In Carson City, United said it handled 25 inbound and 13 outbound shipments. They were scattered across the United States.
In Elko, the company said it handled 36 inbound and 22 outbound moves.
Salt Lake City and the Denver metropolitan area each accounted for about five of the inbound moves to Elko. The outbound destinations were scattered.
