Workshop on research grants scheduled
A workshop to provide an overview of federal Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer grant programs is scheduled in Reno the afternoon of Feb. 15.
The competitive programs provide up to $150,000 in grants for feasibility research and up to $1 million for prototype development. Small grants also are available for companies that need assistance with preparation of a grant request or want to travel to national conferences on the programs.
The workshop sponsored by the Nevada Small Business Development Center at the University of Nevada, Reno, is free. Register at nsbdc.org.
“The thing that I like most about entrepreneurship is I can work toward something that I’m passionate about and be at the forefront of the change that I want to see happen,” said Priyanka Senthil, a senior at Davidson Academy in Reno and co-founder of startup company AUesome.
