Abbi Whitaker is the president and co-founder of The Abbi Agency, an integrated marketing communications firm with offices in Reno, Las Vegas, San Francisco and New York. Abbi is a board member of the Northern Nevada Chamber of Commerce, co-founder of the Biggest Little City Movement, and a board of advisors member for Nevada's Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology.

Over her 17 years in public relations, she has led public relations and marketing campaigns for national franchise, technology, food, travel and business-to-business clients such as Offerpop, Post Planner, Lytics, HomeAdvisor, ShortStack, North Lake Tahoe, The Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, Mammoth Mountain, Intrawest, Odyssey Teams, Fast Wrap, Sugar Bowl Resort, DiggersList and many others.

Abbi is passionate about Reno's future and regional entrepreneurship. She volunteers with many local and regional organizations that are shaping Northern Nevada's future. Abbi is currently the Co-Chair of the Economic Vitality Committee for the Regional Alliance for Downtown, on the speaker committee for TEDxUniveristyofNevada and a Foundation Board Member of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN).

About the Panelists:

Jennifer Taylor – With nearly 20 years of legal experience, Jennifer Taylor left a respected environmental, construction and construction defect law practice lead Clean Energy Project as its Executive Director. Jennifer understands the impact of policy and regulation on Nevada's citizen from work, including representing homeowners living over one of Nevada's largest groundwater contamination sites. She has been a member of the environmental law sections in both Washington and Nevada, a member of Nevada's Energy, Utilities and Communications section, and a LEED Certified Green Associate. Taylor served on the board of Nevada Conservation League board chair from 2010 to 2013, and as board chair from 2010 to 2013. Taylor was campaign manager for Horsford for Congress where she oversaw the day-to-day operations for, then sitting, U.S. Representative Steven Horsford. Prior to taking over the campaign in July 2014, she served as his political director, engaging with stakeholders throughout Nevada. Taylor moved to Nevada in 1995 to serve as law clerk for Nevada Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert E. Rose. Taylor is currently admitted to practice before the United States Supreme court, as well as state and federal courts in Nevada, Washington, California, and Texas. Taylor has a J.D., cum laude, from University of Houston Law Center, B.A. from Southern Methodist University, and is a graduate of both Leadership Las Vegas and Emerge Las Vegas. Taylor served as the Vice Chair for the Clean Energy Sources Technical Advisory Committee of the New Energy Industry Task Force, is currently a member of the City of Las Vegas' City Manager's Energy Advisory Committee, and a member of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Working Group for the Reno based coalition Sustainability Partners in Northern Nevada. Most recently, Taylor was named by Governor Sandoval to his Committee on Energy Choice, which will be tasked with making recommendations and proposal for actions that may need to be taken should the Energy Choice Initiative pass a second time and be amended into the Nevada Constitution.

Ashley Clift Jennings – Ashley is the rare combination of big ideas and big action. With an innate ability to see the larger picture and connect seemingly unrelated dots, Ashley has advised dozens of small businesses from startup into growth. She believes strongly in community and is a powerhouse in her hometown of Reno, organizing meetups and events like Reno Maker Faire and Startup Weekend Reno. She is the founder and former CEO of Girlmade, an accelerator program for women to encourage a new, positive narrative that girls can run their own startups. Ashley combined all of her natural talents as a super-connector, problem-solver and music lover to push back on the "starving artist" myth with Parlor. Ashley graduated from Columbia University and is a member of Nevada Lieutenant Governor Mark Hutchison's Northern Nevada Entrepreneurship Task Force (EFT). Her valuedriven philosophy guides her in helping startups to bring policy issues to the forefront that will make a positive impact to our daily lives as citizens.

Fritz Battcher – Fritz Battcher, partner at Holland & Hart where he helps clients navigate the complex strategies of mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings, and other corporate matters. Working closely with entrepreneurs, Fritz helps emerging business and their owners bring the idea of a company into reality. He provides sophisticated guidance at every stage of development from choosing the right corporate entity, to ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, and strategic counsel to evaluate the risks and challenges of capital financing.

Jim Sacherman – Jim Sacherman started Palo Alto Products, after graduating from Stanford in 1981. After growing into a design, engineering and manufacturing powerhouse, it was acquired by Flextronics in 2001, where Jim was the CMO and member of the executive staff. After a few other mildly successful ventures, Jim now works for the University of Nevada Reno, as director of the Innevation Center and is also a partner in Watershed Growth Ventures.
