Truckee Meadows Community College offers a bachelor's degree program in dental assisting starting this fall. It's one of several programs regional colleges are implementing with a focus on growing a local workforce for rising healthcare needs.
UNR Med's new Physician Assistant program is one of many such healthcare-training programs geared toward improving regional healthcare access and creating a pipeline of trained medical professionals to work in Northern Nevada healthcare facilities and private practice clinics.
