Lewis C. Tomberlin

A memorial service for Lewis C. Tomberlin, 78, a Carson City resident for the past 50 years, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Tomberlin died Dec. 17, 2001, in Carson City. He was born March 7, 1923, in Long Beach, Calif.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in the California Bay Area for more than 20 years.

Mr. Tomberlin owned Lou's Plumbing in Carson City for more than 50 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife Delores, three sons, one daughter and one brother.

Among his survivors are his sons Clifton Tomberlin, J.B. Williams of Reno and Scott Williams of Sisters,Ore.; daughters Lise Ponloway of Carson City and Julie Purdy of Hillsboro, Ore.; brothers Jack of Westwood, Calif., and Frank of Stanton, Calif.; sister Pat Lawson of Napa, Calif.; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Inurnment will be in Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Carson Convalescent Center.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
