Flying Start Aero program offers free introductory flights

Flying Start Aero is sponsoring a free introductory flight on behalf of the Experimental Aircraft Association Young Eagles program at 10 a.m. Dec. 9 at the Flying Start Aero's facility, 1150 Airport Rd., Minden-Tahoe Airport.

The Young Eagles program was developed by the EAA to introduce young people ages 8-17 to the world of aviation. Each Young Eagle flight takes place in a FAA registered aircraft, flown by a licensed pilot. Scheduling is based on a "first come, first served" basis; no appointments are accepted.

At the conclusion of each flight, the Young Eagle will receive a Flight Certificate signed by pilots Ralph Belden and Chuck Yeager. Names of the Young Eagles will be permanently placed in the "world's largest logbook" at the FAA Air Adventure Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
