Former Carson City Ward 1 supervisor Greg Smith may be moved out of the intensive care surgical unit tomorrow. Smith, 42, had triple bypass heart surgery at Washoe Medical Center in Reno on Monday.
"He's doing better today," sister-in-law Cathy Miller said. "He was able to look at and acknowledge us. "
The Washoe Medical Center nursing supervisor said that at the family's request, no information about Smith's condition was being released.
A one-time Carson City supervisor, Smith lost his bid for reelection in 1996 to Robin Williamson. He and his wife Ann live in Carson City and have two children.
