Recycle your Christmas tree free in Carson City, through the Carson City Landfill Dec. 26 through Jan. 8.
The following locations are drop-off sites for cut Christmas trees:
Wal-Mart; Carson City Corporate Yard (on Butti Way next to the Wastewater Treatment Plant); Ormsby Landfill Recycling Area; Capital Sanitation yard (Nye Lane and Highway 50 East), and curbside for Capital Sanitation customers (on customer's regularly scheduled collection day).
The public is asked to remove all lights, tinsel, bases and nails from their three before recycling.
Trees collected in Carson City will be chipped into mulch, which will be made available to the public free of charge at the Ormsby Landfill.
