A Mass of Christian burial for Martin Etcheverria, 73, a Gardnerville resident for the past nine years, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.
A Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Gall.
Mr. Etcheverria died Sept. 3, 2000 at Carson Valley Residential Care. He was born July 8, 1927, in Arneguy, France, to Jean and Marie Pouchulu Etcheverria.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Chino, Calif.
Mr. Etcheverria was a sheepherder. He enjoyed playing Basque games, especially "Mus."
He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Among his survivors are his brothers Jean of San Rafael, Calif. and Jean of France; sisters Dominica Etchemendy of Buffalo, Wyo., and Gracianna Larroca of France and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Eastside Memorial park.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
