- 28th Annual World Championship Rock Drilling Contest 11 a.m., Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St., west parking lot. Admission free.

- Sen. Richard and Bonnie Bryan's 19th annual Chili Feed, noon to 2 p.m., Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St. Admission free.

- "Show and Shine" Car Show, after the parade, in Mills Parks parking lot east of Pony Express Pavilion, E. Highway 50. Admission free

- Capitol City Band Concert after the parade at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, 2180 S. Carson St. Admission free.

- Beard Contest, following the parade on the Capitol steps.

- Nevada Day Music and Heritage Festival featuring David John and The Comstock Cowboys, Nevada Day Awards Ceremony, Annual Costume Contest, music, art and food. At the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St.

- Fireworks begin after 7:30 p.m. at Ormsby House Hotel & Casino. Information 882-2600
