Managers of manufacturing companies will teach Introduction to Manufacturing Management, MGT 170B, this spring semester at Western Nevada Community College, said Diane Updegrove of the Nevada Manufacturers' Association.
The four-credit course can be applied toward a one-year certificate of achievement or two-year associate degree at WNCC.
"This course is specifically designed for first-level managers in the manufacturing industry. Several instructors will cover human resources, technical issues and production management," Updegrove said.
"Area manufacturers developed this course to meet a training need. Most local companies pay their employees' fees to take the course."
Updegrove said managers in quality control, human resources, transportation and production can all profit from the course.
The class will meet from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays on the Carson City campus beginning the week of Jan. 24. Those interested in registering should call Denesa Johnston at WNCC Carson City, 445-3278.
