Credit union gives to children's miracle network

Greater Nevada Credit Union employees who sold holiday stockings have helped raise $3,504 for the Children's Miracle Network

More than 1,700 stockings were sold at $1 apiece. The credit union matched its members' contributions.

Through the non-profit program, children being treated at Washoe Medical Center, Reno, and Primary Children's Medical Center, Salt Lake City, will have the most up-to-date life-saving equipment and care facilities available.

Four of the 10 credit union branches are located in eastern Nevada - Carlin, Wendover, Wells, and Ely - and the money raised by those branches was donated to the Primary Children's Medical Center.

Greater Nevada Credit Union has been serving its members for over 50 years. By the end of its first year in 1949, credit union had 82 members and one branch, operating out of Carson City. Today it serves more than 40,000 members and has ten branches located throughout Northern Nevada. Having more than $215 million in assets, the credit union is the largest in Northern Nevada and is the fourth largest in the state.
