Family Support Dance is set for tonight

A one-week stay at a condo in Maui, thanks to the Carson Valley Inn, will be among the items up for grabs at the Family Support Council's annual Hearts and Flowers Dinner-Dance tonight.

The 17th gala event is will begin with a no-host bar at 6 p.m. and an elegant dinner at 7 p.m. at the Carson Valley Inn. Tickets are $45 at the door.

Two Wolf Pack season football tickets from the University of Nevada, Reno, a pair of adult all-day lift tickets worth $108 from Heavenly and a trip for two to Seattle with two nights accommodation, airfare and a car rental donated by Renee Presto of Presto Travel are among the nearly 100 prizes and auction items set for the event.

In addition, Harrah's Lake Tahoe donated two nights stay for two with a Forest Buffet breakfast, a show in the South Shore Room and use of health club facilities, the Hone family donated a balloon ride for two in the balloon races at Carson Valley Days, Valley-Do-It offered a large gas barbecue grill and Ace Hardware, two mountain bikes.

Four 49ers tickets and a stay at the Chelsea Inn in San Francisco were contributed by Dick Hall of Gardnerville.

The Hyde Street Swing Session will provide music for dancing following dinner.

Dr. Michael Fischer will be auctioneer for the auction to be held during the evening, a silent auction will be held and the top door prize is a diamond donated by Leonard Ludel, former Carson Valley resident and retired diamond cutter.
