GOP picks delegates for national convention

The Nevada Republican Party has selected six congressional district delegates and a slate of 11 at-large delegates to go to the party's national convention in Philadelphia.

The delegates for Congressional District 2 are Jim Gibbons, who holds that congressional seat, former state party Chairman John Mason of Lake Tahoe and Mike Weber of Reno. The delegates for Congressional District 1 are Lia Roberts of Las Vegas, former Lt. Gov. Lonnie Hammargren and Lynette Boggs-McDonald of Las Vegas.

The 11 at-large delegates selected are Gov. Kenny Guinn and his wife, Dema, and Controller Kathy Augustine of Carson City, Treasurer Brian Krolicki of Douglas County, State Sen. Bill Raggio and Maurice Washington of Reno, Assembly members Lynn Hettrick of Douglas and Greg Brower of Reno, U.S. Senate candidate John Ensign and Shirley Blair of Las Vegas and Pete Ernaut of Reno.

Alternates for the congressional district delegates are Earlene Forsythe of Las Vegas, Trudy Hushbeck of Carson City and Andy McKay of Reno in district two and Congressional candidate Jon Porter, Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt and Bob McCune all of Las Vegas in district one.

Alternate delegates selected are Secretary of State Dean Heller and Carson GOP Chairman Joe Dilonardo of Carson City, Beverly Willard from Douglas, Assemblywoman Dawn Gibbons of Reno, former governor Bob List and Sally Miller of Washoe, former U.S. Senator Chic Hecht, Joe Brown, Milton Schwarts, Sig Rogich and Bruce Woodbury all of Las Vegas.

National committeeman Tom Wiesner of Las Vegas, former congresswoman Barbara Vucanovich and former treasurer, now state GOP chairman Bob Seale are all being sent to the national convention even though they won't be voting delegates.

Wiesner will be joined in representing the party by national committeewoman Beverly Willard of Douglas County. She beat out longtime party figure Patty Cafferata for the post.
