High school juniors to attend UNR medical scholars program

Two Carson City High School juniors, Heather Beaudette and Danielle Garcia, have been selected to attend the University of Nevada School of Medicine High School Medical Scholars program. Only 20 students statewide were selected for this program.

This one-week program is focused on students interested in the medical sciences. The program takes place June 11-17 at the Reno campus of the School of Medicine. Attendance is free for selected students and all expenses are paid.

This challenging program is open to juniors in high school interested in a career in medicine or science. Students participate in group research projects, discussions with minority physicians and scientists, tours of campus and medical facilities and hospitals and personal career and college planning sessions.
