Home receives good review from state

Eagle Valley Children's Home at the north end of Carson City has been certified as "deficiency free" by the Nevada State Bureau of Licensure.

Executive Director Pam Smith said this is the fourth time the home, a private, non-profit operation which treats people with mental and developmental disabilities, has gotten such a rating since 1995.

Eagle Valley Children's Home has served the disabled since 1946. It provides treatment services to 15 residents, most of whom have severe disabilities, ranging from age 10 to 38.

Smith said the rating was a noteworthy accomplishment since it is based on a review of 379 different regulation standards.
