Hospital offers ongoing classes

Carson-Tahoe Hospital is offering ongoing classes to the community.

Wellness fairs are open to the public and are by appointment. Fees for services and tests vary. The next fair is Tuesday at the Carson Mall, 1313 S. Carson St. For an appointment, call 885-4121.

Smoking Cessation Support Group meets from 5:30-6:30 p.m. May 9, 16 and 30 at the Plaza Motel conference room, 801 S. Carson St., and from 7:30-8:30 p.m. May 23. All classes are free. Call 885-4301.

A wellness symposium will be held from 7-9 p.m. May 17 at the Pinon Plaza Resort, 2111 Highway 50 East. Continuing education units are available for nurses and doctors. Keynote speaker is Dr. Horensten, who will speak on general health and wellness. Call 885-4705.

The hospital will host its annual community celebration "The Choice of a New Generation" at Treadway Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 20. It is free to the public.

The celebration features a barbecue lunch, live entertainment by the Red House Band, clowns, bounce house, inflatable maze, dunk table, face painting and wellness information booths.
