Insurance rates increase in Nevada

Two insurance companies operating in Nevada have been approved for nominal rate increases.

The Insurance Division granted raises in automotive rates to Farmers Insurance and Mid Century. Both are members of the Farmers Insurance Group and, between them, cover nearly 190,000 vehicles in Nevada.

The increase approved amounts to 1.1 percent more for Farmers Exchange and 1.2 percent for Mid Century.

The increases take effect May 1 for all policies renewed or begun after that date.
