Kiwanis chief to award scholarships to Carson High students

Kiwanis Club President Ron Bowman will award six scholarships to CHS graduating seniors totaling $14,750 at the annual Carson High School Scholarship Awards Night May 17.

There will be three $4,000 scholarships, two $1,000 scholarships and one $750 scholarship.

The Kiwanis Club of Carson City will hold its annual spaghetti feed Saturday at the Senior Citizens Center from 4-6:30 p.m. to raise money for the Meals on Wheels program which feeds 160 seniors five days a week.

June 24 will be the annual Kiwanis "Breakfast for Books" at the Carson Public Library. All the proceeds go toward purchasing children's books for the library.
