Libertarian files for House of Representatives

Libertarian Terry Savage filed Monday for Nevada's District 2 seats in the House of Representatives.

He is the first person to challenge Republican incumbent Jim Gibbons. Gibbons put in his name for a third term on the opening day of filing a week ago.

Savage, 45, said he will give voters a clear choice in the race.

"I'm going to present the option of a much smaller government," he said. "And the primary way of controlling the beast is to stop feeding it."

Savage has lived in Nevada four years and works for the Nevada Department of Information Technology in Carson City. He lives in Incline Village.

Two years ago, he ran for governor, also as a Libertarian.
