Marine corps swears in new auxiliary

The Marine Corps League Auxiliary Silver State Detachment was officially sworn in by Marine Crops League Commandant Dave Wyble Sr. during a meeting at the Veterans' Administration Hall.

President Pat Wyble conducted installation. The Nevada Second Marine Corps Auxiliary has worked with the league during the past year to assist needy families of Marines and former Marines with community fund-raising events and by hosting monthly league dinners.

Both the league and the auxiliary serve all of Carson City, Douglas, and Lyon counties and part of Storey County and Washoe Valley. The auxiliary is open to women Marines, former, active and reserves, wives, widows, mothers, grandmothers, step-mothers, sisters, daughters, granddaughters and step-daughters of a Marine eligible to belong to the Marine Corps League Inc., who are at least 16 years of age.

The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at the Veterans Memorial Hall, at Second and Curry streets. For information, call 882-7864.
