The Mark Twain Garden Club will be celebrating its 50th birthday with a brunch at 10 a.m. Friday at the Brewery Arts Center.
The organization was formed in February of 1950 to promote interest in beautifying the city with more gardens and give assisance to state a local governments in their choices of landscaping. Over the years members have contributed to the community with flowers and trees in several parks, as well as state and city buildings.
