Nate Dogg released on $1 million bail

POMONA, Calif. - Rapper Nate Dogg, who was arrested for investigation of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and torching a car, was released Sunday after posting $1 million bail, authorities said.

After being released, the performer went to an Anaheim arena where he was scheduled to perform as a part of the ''Up in Smoke'' rap concert tour.

The 30-year-old rapper, whose given name is Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, was released around 8 p.m., said Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Rick Martinez.

Hale was arrested Saturday afternoon and booked for investigation of kidnapping, making terrorist threats, domestic violence and arson. An arraignment date was not immediately announced.

Hale allegedly held his girlfriend against her will at a home in Lakewood, assaulted her and set her mother's car on fire.

Hale got his start with rappers Snoop Dogg and Warren G in a Long Beach-area band. He later recorded with Dr. Dre on ''The Chronic'' and appeared on Snoop Dogg's ''Doggystyle.''

Hale, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and others are part of the ''Up in Smoke'' tour.
