Obituary: Calvin H. Braren

A memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Calvin H. Braren, 66, a Gardnerville resident for the past four years, will be at 11 a.m. May 6 at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville with Father Bill Nadeau celebrant.

Mr. Braren died April 26, 2000, at his home. He was born Aug. 24, 1933, in Petaluma, Calif., to Harvey and Lillian Braren.

He married Beverly Clark May 6, 1951, in Reno.

Before moving to Gardnerville he lived at South Lake Tahoe.

Mr. Braren owned the Tahoe Bottle Shop at South Lake Tahoe for 15 years. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the San Francisco 49ers and working in the yard. He was a member of St. Gall Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Linda, in 1998.

Among his survivors are his wife Beverly N., of Gardnerville; son Michael R. of Salinas, Calif.; daughter Denise L. Ingram of Livermore, Calif., and sisters Gail O'Neal of Vallejo, Calif., and Bette Darnell of Tyler, Texas.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
