Obituary: Jimmy Bridges

He married Vella M. Kennedy Dec. 3, 1957, in Endover, New Brunswick, Canada.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Lompoc, Calif.

Mr. Bridges retired from the U.S. Air Force after 24 years of distinguished service, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a long-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Tennessee and he was a Baptist. He loved hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father and son, Jerry L., in October 1994.

Among his survivors are his wife, Vella of Gardnerville; mother, Alice Jackson of McEwen, Tenn.; sons, Nathan L. Bridges of Rigby, Idaho, Robert L. Bridges of Overland Park, Kan. and Martin A Hermosillo of Gardnerville; daughter, Brenda Marie Hermosillo of Gardnerville; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at a later date.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
