Obituary: John W. Butterworth

A memorial service for John W. Butterworth, 42, a Carson City resident for the past 14 years, will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bruce Kochsmeier officiating.

Mr. Butterworth died Jan. 2, 2000, at his residence. He was born Oct. 29, 1957, in Kenosha, Wis., to Wallace and Arlene Veprauskas Butterworth.

He graduated from Case High School in Racine, Wis.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Kenosha, Wis.

Mr. Butterworth worked as a loan officer in the banking industry and worked the Salt River Project in Phoenix, Ariz. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was a Christian.

Among his survivors are his father, Wallace, of Phoenix; son, Michael, of Carson City; brother, Todd, of Carson City and Andrew, of Phoenix; stepbrother, Paul Chalekian and stepfather, Harry Chalekian, both of Carson City and grandmother, Nell Veprauskas, of Kenosha, Wis.

Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 110 N. Nevada St., Carson City 89703 or to Care Chest of Reno, 5390 Riggins Court, Suite F, Reno 89502.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
