Obituary: Lois Irene Barker

A graveside service for Lois Irene Barker, 73, a Silver Springs resident for the past 23 years, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Desert Memorial Gardens in Silver Springs.

Mrs. Barker died Nov. 21, 1999, at Carson Convalescent Center. She was born May 17, 1926, in Canton, Ohio, to Thomas and Virginia Hershey Brownsword.

Before moving to Silver Springs, she lived in Ontario, Calif.

Mrs. Barker worked in quality control for 18 years for Leynch Electronics.

Among her survivors are her sons, Robert M. Merola and Wayne D. Barker, both of Silver Springs; daughter, Mary M. Witko, of Silver Springs; brothers, Steven Brownsword of Ohio, Fred Brownsword of Florida, Glenn Brownsword, of Ohio and Gene Brownsword, of Florida; sisters, Nancy Moody, and Gayle Collett, both of Georgia and June Brownsword, of Maryland and granddaughter, Alissa Barker.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
