Ormsby House receives new air conditioner

Shaw Construction installed a new air conditioning cooling tower Tuesday on the Ormsby House roof.

Using its 120-ton crane, Shaw crews removed the old cooling tower and installed the new tower between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., general superintendent George Snodgrass said.

The cooling tower is the heart of the air-conditioning system in the 10-story hotel-casino, he said.

The air-conditioning work is part of the large-scale remodeling at the Ormsby House that will expand the casino and upgrade all the rooms.

"This is the big start of fixing the air conditioner," general manager Bob Cashell said.
