Program on ways to talk and cope with death set for Wednesday

The Nevada Center for Ethics and Health Policy will present "It's OK to Talk About Death Day" from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Dr. The educational program is offered free.

More than 90 percent of people die from a chronic or prolonged terminal illness, while less than 10 percent will die suddenly. Many people have time to plan for death.

A team of professionals, including volunteer lawyers and health care providers, will present a seminar on Advance Health Care Directives and assist attendees in signing a "Declaration to Your Physician."

The program is presented in partnership with KNPB Channel 5, the Nevada Division for Aging Services, Nevada State Library & Archives and the Senior Citizens' Law School, Inc.
