Randall arrested for credit card fraud

A Carson City man suspected of using illegally obtained credit card numbers to pay for a motel room was arrested early Friday in a South Carson motel.

Michael Paul Randall, 19, was arrested after Carson City sheriff's deputies learned that he was wanted for suspicion of fraud in Lyon County.

A search of his rented room in the 2700 block of South Carson Street and an attached room revealed several stolen credit card receipts and payroll checks, said Chief Sheriff's Deputy Scott Burau.

Randall was accused of felony possession of stolen property and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Because the case originated in Lyon County, it is likely that the Carson City District Attorney's Office will release Randall for prosecution in that county.

Bail was set at $26,105.
