The Carson Ranger District is hosting a public field trip to share information and explore options for managing Thomas Creek Canyon which is north of Galena and west of Reno.
Access to the canyon is by Mount Rose Highway and Timberline Road.
This field trip is in response to Thomas Canyon landowners, residents and other members of the public who have expressed interest and concern over the current access issues, including resource damage, fire danger and public safety occurring on National Forest and private properties.
The meeting will be held on Friday in Thomas Canyon. A field review will provide the public the opportunity to better visualize the issues and potential solutions.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the junction of Thomas Canyon and Timberline roads. Inclement weather location will be Galena High School Cafeteria, same date and time.
