Still time to get insurance for Carson High range

The jury is still out on the Carson City High School indoor range being open to the Carson City Gun Club.

According to Chris Hill, who is leading the effort to keep the indoor range open, the issue is down to how much the cost of insurance the school district will have to pay or not pay, for the indoor range to accommodate private citizens using the range.

The next scheduled meeting is for June 27 at 7 p.m. Location will probably be at the Carson Community Center, corner of Roop Street and Highway 50 East. However, the meeting place has changed in the past at the last minute, so don't be surprised. A really good showing this time will work in our favor.

It is vital that as many as possible show up at the meeting. According to Chris, the last meeting did not have a very strong showing of supporters. This is a very important issue, for once the indoor range is lost, it may never be recovered. This is the time to "fight" the battle to preserve this important asset to the law-abiding firearms owners in and around Carson City. The pressure to keep people from using firearms for target practice is more prevalent today than ever in our history.
