UNR's nursing school receives full reaccreditation

The University of Nevada, Reno's Orvis School of Nursing has been approved for full reaccreditation for the maximum four-year period by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.

The Orvis School of Nursing recently underwent a visit by state authorities. On May 19, the board voted to grant full reapproval. The school in the College of Human and Community Sciences has had continuous accreditation since its founding in 1957. Accreditation signifies that the school is in full compliance with all regulations.

The school is also accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and has preliminary approval from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the newest national accreditation board for baccalaureate and higher degree nursing programs.

The school offers bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing.
