LOS ANGELES - A college student who boasted of selling LSD to five youths who died in a car crash after a rave party has agreed to plead guilty to federal drug charges unrelated to the accident, prosecutors said Monday.
Hugh ''Scottie'' McLetchie, a senior at the University of Southern California, will plead guilty next Monday to charges of conspiracy, selling LSD and selling LSD within 1,000-feet of a playground, according to court papers.
The conspiracy count alone carries a five-year minimum sentence. Under the plea agreement, prosecutors will ask for a slight reduction in his sentence.
McLetchie's lawyer did not return a call for comment Monday.
A toxicology report on the five youths who died Aug. 29 on their way home from a rave party in Angeles National Forest found amphetamine, methamphetamine and other drugs in their systems, but no trace of LSD.
McLetchie, 21, was heard by an undercover drug agent wearing a wire as he told someone by phone that he sold LSD to the youths at the party. He already was under investigation for allegedly selling drugs.
