A service for Jo-Ella "Jody" Pruett Avera, 38, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at her home in New Plymouth, Idaho.
A memorial service will be at a later date at Mountain View Cemetery in Reno.
Mrs. Avera died Sept. 23, 2001, in Nampa, Idaho, of cancer. She was born Feb. 4, 1963, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital to E.L. Joe and Wilma Pruett.
She attended Carson Middle School and Carson High School before joining the U.S. Navy in 1980.
Mrs. Avera returned to live in Carson City, Reno and Yerington, working as a bartender and cocktail waitress.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1988.
Among her survivors are her husband John and daughter Lacy Jo, both of New Plymouth; mother and stepfather Wilma and Jack Linsenmier of Yerington; brother and sister-in-law Gus and Patricia Pruett and nephews Kyle and Dallas Pruett, all of Carson City, and numerous cousins in California and Idaho.
