Everette L. Smith, 87, a Carson City resident for the past 18 years, died April 16, 2002, at his home. He was born Nov. 23, 1915, in Boomer Town, Iowa, to William and Julia Jensen Smith.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Bellflower, Calif.
Mr. Smith retired from Pacific Pipeline after 32 years in Montebello, Calif. He also worked as a crane operator in the shipyard in Long Beach, Calif., in the early '40s. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a Lutheran.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Bernice.
Among his survivors are his sons Gary of Huntington Beach, Calif., Ron of Dayton and Larry, Robert and Bruce, all of Carson City; sister June Hankins of Meadow Vista, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A private burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
