Sponsorships available for Balloon Race

Sponsors are sought for the Great Reno

Balloon Race Sept. 6-8.

The nonprofit event is free to the public

because businesses and other sponsors

cover its costs.

Sponsorship packages are available to

fulfill the needs of businesses and individual

groups.

"Our stability and our ability to continue

is directly linked to our major sponsors,"

said Great Balloon Race President

Amy Bennett.

The Great Reno Balloon Race has

drawn visitors from around the world for

more than 20 years.

More than 100 balloonists are expected

at this year's event at Rancho San Rafael

Regional Park, said Bennett.

Last year, more than 130,000 people

attended the balloon races, and thousands

more hosted events related to the races.

The races begin at 6:30 a.m. each day.

On Saturday and Sunday, a Glow Show at

5 a.m. and a Dawn Patrol at 5:30 a.m.

kick off the day's activities.
