A funeral Mass for Antone "Tony" Frade, 97, long-time Mason Valley resident, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Holy Family Catholic Church.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home.
Mr. Frade died Dec. 31, 2001, at South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington. He was born Aug. 7, 1904, on Flores Island of the Azores to Manuel and Ana Frade.
He came to America in 1922 at the age of 17 and worked in California and Nevada.
He married Anna Nagel in 1930.
He and his wife owned and operated the Valley Dairy in Yerington since 1933. He had been very active in community affairs and organizations in the Yerington area. In 1983, he received the Kiwanis' Pioneer Award.
Among his survivors are his wife Anna; sons Joseph and William; daughters Louise Barton and Marianne Roberts; sisters Maria Henriques, Luisa Henriques, Maria Jesus and Maria Avelar; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery.
