Obituary: Bud Jacobsen

Bud Jacobsen, 86, a Dayton resident, died March 5, 2002, at Carson Convalescent Home. He was born Dec. 25, 1915, in Reno, to Chris and Louisa Christensen Jacobsen.

He was raised in Fallon and attended Churchill County High School Class of 1936.

He married Catherine (Trina) McLean of Fernley Dec. 26, 1941.

Mr. Jacobsen worked for Truckee-Carson Irrigation District in Fallon. He worked on road construction, Local 3 Operating Engineers, for Drumn, Dodge, Guy F. Atkins, Wells-Stewart and Helms Construction. He retired in 1977.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, brother Harvey and grandson Michael Keller.

Among his survivors are his son Richard (Jake) of Reno; daughters Carole Keller of Dayton and Claudia and husband Grant Beckstrand of Fallon; grandsons Jacob Beckstrand of Bakersfield, Calif., and Capt. Tom Beckstrand of Fort Knox, Ky.; daughter Iola Smith of Chico, Calif.; grandchildren Karen, Freddie, Dana and Steve and 10 great-grandchildren.

At his request, no service will be held.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
