Motel rates fall more than hotels in the off-season

A check of discount room rates

on the Web site www.discount-renohotels.

com, at three Reno-area

hotel-casinos showed somewhat

lower rates for the last Sunday and

Monday in November 2002 (Nov.

24-25) compared to the last Sunday

and Monday in July 2003 (July 27-

28):

* A standard room in the Sky

Tower with two queen beds at

Circus Circus in Reno in November

was $38, compared to $45 in July.

* A room in the Tower with two

queen beds or one king bed at the

Eldorado Hotel & Casino in Reno in

November was $35, compared to

$65 in July.

* A room in the Annex with a

king bed or two double beds at the

Peppermill Hotel casino was $30 in

November, compared to $34 in

July.

A comparison of three motels

showed significant off-season rate

decreases:

* A room with two double beds

at the Days Inn in Reno in

November was $29.74, compared

to $140.25 in July.

* A room with two double beds

at the Reno Travelodge in November

was $33, compared to $199 in July.

* A room with one queen bed at

the Super 8 Motel in Sparks in

November was $48.60, compared

to $64 in July.
