Hattie J. Hickman, 78, a Carson City resident for the past five years, died Nov. 2, 2002, at her home. She was born July 15, 1924, in Akron, Ohio, to Bentley D. and Elizabeth Shuman Roop.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Akron.
She worked as a candy maker for Arnold's Candies in Akron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Devere, in 1977 and son Devere Jr. in 1994.
Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law Larry and Becky Hickman of Minden; sister Margaret Roop of Alliance, Ohio; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
At her request, no service will be held.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
