Obituary: Mary R. Williams

Funeral services will be held Tuesday for Mary R. Williams, 80. The 65-year resident of Carson City died Oct. 16, 2002, in Carson City.

She was born in Salanis, Kan., Dec. 19, 1921 to Royden Eby and Mildred Keeler, and lived in Reno before settling in Carson City.

She married Troy Williams on July 4, 1940 at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Carson City. They celebrated their 52nd anniversary before he preceded her in death on March 18, 1993.

Mrs. Williams worked for 29 years for the State of Nevada in the treasurer's office and the parole and probation department.

She was a member of St. Teresa's Guild and Phi Kappa Beta. She enjoyed tennis, hiking, camping and fishing.

She is survived by sons Troy of Washoe Valley, Steve of Carson City and Eric of Ely; brother William Eby of Henderson; sister Marjorie Statten of Frisco, Tex.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the funeral service at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Services are being handled by Fitzhenry's Funeral Home.
