Carson businessman appointed to Republican commission

Joe DiLonardo of Carson City has been selected to serve the state of Nevada on the new Presidential Business Commission, Congressman Tom Delay of Texas recently announced.

The Presidential Business Commission is an elite group of business and professional people and political strategists who will be advising the Republican leadership on how to protect the president's majority in the House in the upcoming elections.

DiLonardo was selected based on his outstanding contribution as an honorary chairman of the party's Business Advisory Council, a position he still holds.

Commenting on DiLonardo's selection, DeLay said, "The 2002 election will be critical in determining the course of our nation, particularly in terms of tax relief and national defense. I am grateful to have Mr. DiLonardo's expertise and personal input as a resource in the final weeks."
