120 YEARS AGO

Last evening M. Ascheim, a man well known in Carson and on the Comstock, died at the Muller House and was buried with Hebrew rites yesterday. For many years he followed the tonsorial profession and his lively conversation and positive opinions on all subjects have caused thousands of patrons to recollect him with pleasure. He was a native of Prussia, 42.

100 YEARS AGO

Fred Small has sold the Soda Lakes in Churchill County to Clem Webb who will manufacture the soda for Nevada from now on. The Soda Lakes are very valuable and quite a sum was involved in the transaction. "Telegram."

A.G. Meyers Company will be closed for Good Friday and the Skaggs Safeway from noon til 3 o'clock.

50 YEARS AGO

Virginia City, an unemployed miner sold his Virginia City home for $150. Quartz rock in and around the building, a mystery lode, ran from $50 a ton to $500. New $125,000 theater will be built in Carson City by A.R. Bowen, owner of the present Carson Theater. The Carson Trading Post will be moved from the corner of Carson and Washington streets.

Senate approves a bill which makes restitution a condition of probation or suspension of sentence.

10 YEARS AGO

Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa says they ha published a Spanish language version of its "Domestic Violence Handbook."
