Meridian Gold has hired Business for Social Responsibility, a nonprofit agency based in San Francisco, to help it better understand the concerns of the residents of Esquel, Argentina.
The BSR team is currently in Esquel.
The Reno-based mining company recently stopped exploration at its Esquel mine due to community protests and a recently-passed local ordinance.
