Window plant set for Sparks

Brothers Home Improvement, which sells and installs vinyl windows throughout much of California, will launch a manufacturing operation in Sparks.

The plant will be the first manufacturing undertaken by the company based in Roseville, Calif.

Jim Dobson, product manager for Brothers, said the 35,000-square-foot plant at 980 United Circle will employ about 30 people when it opens in early 2004.

The facility will produce about 200 vinyl windows a day.

Dobson said Brothers Home Improvement selected Sparks for its first manufacturing plant because of its access to California markets, the attractive Nevada tax structure and the presence nearby of Royal Sierra Extrusions, a key supplier.

Brothers Home Improvements, which sells 150 to 200 windows a day, has operated in California for nine years.

Katie Morrison of Commercial Properties of Nevada represented Brothers in its lease of the Sparks property.
