Evelyn Fuller Peddicord

A memorial service for Evelyn Fuller Peddicord, 86, a longtime resident of the Carson Valley, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Carson Valley Methodist Church in Gardnerville.

Mrs. Peddicord died Nov. 30, 2003, at home. She was born Nov. 27, 1917, in Republic, Kan., to Joe D. and Dora Meyers Fuller.

Mrs. Peddicord was director of the Douglas County School Lunch Program and head cook at the high school for many years. She worked as a caterer for 15 years. She was an honorary member of the Minden Fortnightly. She was a Sunday school superintendent for several years.

She was a life master at duplicate bridge, placing second in a national tournament in 1995. She was a volunteer at the museum for the Carson Valley Historical Society and prepared meals for FFA leadership conferences. She enjoyed fishing, playing bridge and recipe contests. She was a member of the Carson Valley Methodist Church.

Among her survivors are her husband of 63 years, Jim; son, Neil of Gardnerville; daughter, Nancy Peddicord Bruce of West Sacramento; grandchildren Shannon Alm, Robert Bruce and Dawn Buck; and four great-grandchildren.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
