Mary A. Kusarik

A graveside service for Mary A. Kusarik, 90, a resident of the area for the past three years, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.

Mrs. Kusarik died Dec. 9, 2003, at Evergreen Care Center. She was born July 16, 1913, in Scranton, Pa., to Barney and Magdalena Sanaivitis and Jankauskas.

Before moving to this area, she lived in Merced, Calif.

Mrs. Kusarik was a presser for a clothing factory in Pennsylvania for almost 50 years.

She served in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps during World War II. She enjoyed playing bingo and her friends at the Carson Valley Inn.

Among her survivors are her son, Michael Ragni of Fresno, Calif.; daughter, Carolyn A. Pickett of Gardnerville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
