Carl Kevin Wheat

A service for Carl Kevin Wheat, 50, a Genoa resident, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Genoa Community Church.

Mr. Wheat died Dec. 13, 2003, in Genoa. He was born Aug. 26, 1953, in Superior, Mont., to General M. "Jim" and Anna Faye Popkes Wheat.

He graduated from Basic High School in Henderson.

Before moving to Genoa, he lived in Pocatello, Idaho, and Henderson.

Mr. Wheat worked construction, became a juvenile probation officer and was the former director of China Spring Youth Camp. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Genoa Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Among his survivors are his son, Colton James of Gardnerville; sisters and brothers-in-law Kathy and Rick McCormick of Sparks and Susan and Jeff Jackson of Bozeman, Mont.; brothers and sisters-in-law Michael and Debby Wheat of Bozeman and David and Pandora Wheat of Inkom, Idaho and 16 nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Genoa Fire Department.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
