A map of the state's geothermal sites is now available in the web, thanks to the Great Basin Center for Geothermal Energy at the University of Nevada, Reno.
The map can be viewed and downloaded at www.nmbg.unr.edu, according to Lisa Shevenell, associate research hydrogeologist at UNR.
Another resource, said Shevenell, is www.unr.edu/geothermal.
The Center is also working with industry, said Shevenell, particularly at the Desert Peak site near Fernley where Ormat Nevada Inc.
is developing two geothermal sites.
